I left central government in 2006 to establish my own consultancy BC Business Solutions enjoying a directorship with BeeAgile Ltd and associate consultant status with SHAIP LLP.
My civil service career spanned Cabinet Office and headquarters appointments with DEFRA DWP and Education where I led an intervention team working with failing education departments. I was an executive board member at both The Appeals Service 2004-2006 and Local Space Housing Association 2012-2013. Since then I have specialised in interim assignments working with housing associations, local authorities and ALMOs (Arms Length Management Organisations). My expertise covers governance, organisational design, customer insight, business planning, business improvement and all related change management disciplines.
I was a governor at Martinswood Primary school in Stevenage from 2000 to 2010 where I chaired the standards and curriculum committee and complaints panel as well as leading the governor panel to assess headteacher performance. I was appointed vice chair for the last 2 years of my tenure.
More recently I clerked at a middle school academy with over 700 pupils and over 80 teaching and administrative staff where I was ultimately appointed company secretary.
