Mark Studied at Christ Church, Oxford. He was ordained in 1998, and in 2005 was awarded a Master of Theology from Chester College, University of Liverpool. In 2015 he became an honorary Canon of Durham Cathedral and was elected to the Church of England’s General Synod in the same year.
Mark is currently Bishop of Berwick in the Diocese of Newcastle, his role is to serve the common good of the people and communities of our region. Mark has also served as Warden of Cranmer Hall and Vice Principal of St John’s College, Durham University. He was governor to 3 schools in North Yorkshire, and whilst a Youth worker also carried out duties as a part-time Army Chaplin.
Mark is married with two children, one at university and the other at 6th form college in a local school.
