A Swansfield Park Primary School student, Tom Rose, has won the Pele Trust 2025 Geordie Banger Competition. 

Tom’s creation, “King of the Castle,” was flavoured with red pepper, honey and ginger. He noted that it pays homage to the many local castles in our area.

Tom and one of his friends spent time outside the Geordie Banger pod in Amble, handing out samples of his sausage. The first 20 customers received a free pack, and thanks to Tom and his friend’s brilliant sales pitch and confidence in speaking to the public about the competition and the inspiration behind the flavour, the free packs disappeared very quickly!

They both had the opportunity to taste the finished product, and Tom and his family have also been invited to visit the new Geordie Banger HQ later this year when they move into their new premises. Tom's prize also included 10 packs of Geordie Bangers to take home! 

The King of the Castle Geordie Banger will be available to purchase nationwide (online) after February half-term and at Amble Pod, Quayside Market and Grainger Market.

This annual collaboration between Pele Trust and Geordie Bangers is quickly becoming a favourite event for our students. See you next year!
